We Are...
Chevron Retirees Association is a national organization of retirees, former employees, and their surviving spouses. If you, or your spouse, retired from, or ever worked for, any of the companies which subsequently became a part of Chevron Corporation, you are eligible for membership.  These companies include: Chevron, Texaco, Gulf, Getty, Unocal, Warren Petroleum, and Jefferson Chemical, as well as others.
The national organization is divided into twelve North American Areas which are partitioned into 101 Chapters. Our's is the Hill Country Chapter of South Texas Area, including retirees from Schulenburg to Kerrville, and Temple to San Antonio.  It's a large swath of territory. The chapter is further subdivided into three geographic Areas, each having its own elected director.
Chevron Retirees Association serves to represent retirees' interests before the corporation, particularly in areas of healthcare and retirement benefits. It provides relevant news to retirees in the quarterly Encore bulletin. And, it maintains and distributes a directory of retirees' email addresses.
Hill Country Chapter offers its members opportunities for social occasions in an inviting atmosphere, combined with good food, topical speakers and information, and sometimes, entertainment.
Traditionally, three luncheons are scheduled each year; a luncheon in Austin, another in a Hill Country location in one of the other Areas, and a Christmas holiday special event.
Hill Country Chapter provides a membership directory with addresses and phone numbers, and periodically issues newsletters. Annual dues are $10.00 for retiree or surviving spouse, or $15.00 for retiree including spouse. Thirty percent of that is transmitted to the national organization which uses these funds to offset operating expenses.  Chevron Corporation financially supports Chevron Retirees Association based upon the number of local chapter members. So, each retiree can aid in increasing the corporation's support simply by maintaining a membership in one, or more, of the local chapters.
Hill Country Chapter's Officers and Directors are elected by the membership for two year terms. They are responsible for event planning, compiling the membership directory, and communicating to the membership. One of the officers represents the chapter at Chevron Retirees' Association's annual convention.

This website is managed by Hill Country Chapter of Chevron Retirees Association, which is not a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation, but an independent organization of retired employees of Chevron or its predecessor companies.
